EMT-B, WEMT Francis Smith

Francis recently retired from a career in the pharmaceutical industry and lives at the Cape.  He is married to Rebecca Smith (also and EMT) and likes to spend his time at his first love as a naturalist and a journal writer/illustrator.  Francis was born in Scotland, immigrated to the US and became a citizen while in his twenties.  He is a Vietnam veteran with service as a B-52 pilot and ground-based forward air-controller.  Both he and Rebecca have been District 3 volunteer firefighters for the past 12 years.  Francis has served in every rank from basic firefighter to Battalion Chief.  Francis is also a Coast Guard licensed captain and does some seasonal charter work.  Both he and Rebecca are just completing their rookie year as EMT’s and recently added the Wilderness EMT designation to their qualifications.
