I
was raised in Delaware, attended college in Florida and
lived in Switzerland for the next twenty years where I met
my husband. We returned to the States in 1986 after a
business stay in Egypt. My husband and I were at lunch with
Weyshawn Koons about a flying program for her son when we
learned that she was an island paramedic. With my keen
interest in health and medical issues and a desire to help
others in a more meaningful way, Weyshawn suggested I
consider the island’s volunteer EMT program. I have since
come to appreciate that it is a privilege and an honor to
serve people in this manner and I have been deeply moved by
my interactions with them.
