North Region EMS Council
The mission of North Region EMS is to promote a coordinated region-wide system.
The System shall provide quality, comprehensive, and cost-effective emergency medical and trauma care to individuals in Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish, and Whatcom Counties.

Washington EMS Laws

This section highlights laws that improve access or services related to emergency care, with a focus on children. While several laws reported here specifically address emergency medical services for children (EMSC), most apply to the broader population as well. For example, laws reported in this section include emergency medical services and insurance plan requirements; insurance coverage, EMS services and equipment; poison control; pediatric trauma centers; statewide trauma systems; the use of automatic external defibrillators; and 911 telephone service.

National Association of EMTs

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians is a major force in the growth and development of EMS, actively promoting the highest levels of professionalism among EMS providers. It is dedicated to expanding EMS knowledge and education, enhancing professional development and advancing the cause of EMS through advocacy and research.

National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians

To serve as the national EMS certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice required by (EMS) professionals throughout their careers and by maintaining a registry of certification status.

The National EMS Pilots Association (NEMSPA) is a professional organization dedicated to serving pilots involved in the air-medical transport industry and to improving the quality of those services.

National EMS Information Systems
The NEMSIS Project is an effort to create a National EMS Database. The database will contain data from local and state agencies from across the nation. This effort will define EMS and pre-hospital care in a way never before imagined, improving patient care and EMS curriculum and defining a standard on with to measure care. Agencies across the nation will be able to share the key elements of their data nationally.
