Visitors Breath Easier
We have been coming to the San Juan
Islands for the past 15 years and have never had any
problems until this year. While staying in the marina on
my dad's boat my 6 year old son had an asthma attack and
I had to call 911. Not once, but twice. Due to the
excellent response time, skills and compassionate manner
of the San Juan EMS (Jim Cole, Jim Ricks and his crew of
volunteers) my son was not traumatized in the least bit.
He brags about how brave he was getting his 1st IV and
how "his boys and girls" helped to get him well in
Washington. Thank you doesn't say enough.

Angels Driving By
When my son fell out of his tree, an angel just
happened to be driving by. Without hesitation, he
stopped his truck to run over and hold my son's head in
line. Within seconds (it seemed to me) the whole EMT
crew was strapping my son expertly onto a board.
Everyone was calm, even friendly about it all. There was
even someone who could talk to his little brother,
soothing him from the frightening experience of seeing
his big brother hurt. Just before they shut the
ambulance doors, I managed to ask the angel what his
name was. All he said was, "Steve."
Thank you, Steve! Thank you, all of you!

Unthawed
I want to thank you for your indispensable and
very professional help last Monday in getting me
from home to the Medical Center. My joints were
essentially frozen up, and I could never have got there
without your assistance. After a few days in the
hospital, I am now home, the sand is washing from my
joints, and all is very much better.
Thanks from my wife and from me, and Merry Christmas,
~William C. Agosta
